Opened in August 2015, the Dance School has a ‘state of the art’ on-site residency which it also shares with the music pupils of Douglas Academy. Housing up to 90 pupils, it provides a real ‘home-from-home’.

Pupils stay from Sunday night and usually return home on Friday evening. (Some Saturday performances, rehearsals and exams require an additional overnight stay on Friday.)

Dance School of Scotland ResidencyWithin the building are:

  • 45 ensuite twin bedrooms
  • 3 music practice rooms.
  • Dance studio
  • 2 living rooms
  • Medical room
  • Dining area

Those young people who are residing at the residence will also benefit from the large garden.

Places allocated are for one year and parents are invited to apply for places for the next session at the end of the Spring Term. Places are usually offered after the Easter break and are allocated according to age and the distance from the pupil’s home to school.

Cost: Parental contributions towards running costs are currently £25.00 per month from August to May. This can be paid in full at the start of the session or by monthly standing order.
