Andrew trained at both The Royal Ballet’s Lower and Upper Schools, White Lodge and Covent Garden. During his time at the school he won 3rd prize at The Young British Dancer of the Year competition and performed with both The Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet companies. Andrew also choreographed a number of works for the school at the Linbury Theatre and the Salder’s Wells Theatre, the latter of which was a special collaboration with the Yehudi Menuhin School.

Upon graduation, he joined the Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin where he performed works by Jiri Kylián, Alexander Ekman, August Bournonville, Jo Strømgren, Maina Geilgud, Maurice Béjart, Johan Inger, Bertrand d’At, Mathieu Guilhaumon, Lucinda Childs and Garry Stewart. 

In 2010, Andrew joined Scottish Ballet and rose through the ranks to Principal Dancer. During his time with the company he created a number of roles and performed many works by choreographers including Christopher Bruce, Peter Darrell (Prince), Matthew Bourne, Kenneth MacMillan (le Baiser de la fée), Crystal Pite, David Dawson (Siegfried, Benno), Hans van Manen, Helen Pickett, William Forsythe, Krzysztof Pastor (Romeo), Angelin Preljoçag, Jiri Kylián, Javier de Frutos, Bryan Arias, Sophie Laplane, Martin Lawrence, Christopher Hampson (Kai, Cinderella Prince, Hansel), Annabelle Lopez Ochoa (Allan), Jorma Elo, Frederick Ashton and Ashley Page.

During his career, Andrew performed around the world in theatres such as The Kennedy Centre (Washington D.C), Maryiinsky Theatre (Russia), National Centre for the Performing Arts (China), Dorothy Chandler Pavillion (Los Angeles), Harris Theatre (Chicago) and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (Hong Kong). 

In 2018 Andrew was nominated for the Most Outstanding Classical Performance in the National Dance Critics Awards for his performance in Kenneth MacMillan’s Le Baiser de la Fée at The Royal Opera House. 

Retiring from professional dance in 2022, Andrew joined the faculty at the Dance School of Scotland.
