Glauco trained at the Opera House Ballet School in Rome and started performing in main productions with the Opera company when he was 16.
He graduated at 18 and went on to perform with the Aterballetto dance company in Reggio Emilia, Italy before joining English National Ballet in 1993 under Derek Deane’s direction. In his four years at ENB, he performed soloist roles in Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Coppelia, Alice in Wonderland, Romeo and Juliet and Napoli amongst others.
In 1997 he joined Scottish Ballet where he was promoted to coryphee. He danced countless soloist and principal roles with Scottish Ballet, including leading roles in Ashton’s The Two Pigeons, North’s Romeo and Juliet, Carmen and Death and the Maiden, Darrell’s Othello and Page’s Cheating, Lying, Stealing. He retired from performing in 2010.
Glauco started teaching ballet in 2005 while still dancing with Scottish Ballet. Since then, he has taught at The Dance School of Scotland, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Clyde College, Scottish Ballet, Dance House, Dance Base as well as working as a guest teacher for Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures and Michael Clark Company.
